Default What has happened?

What ever has happened to this web site? I used to come here two or three times a day and always found something new. Then as it slowed down it was every day or two. I haven't been here in over a month and there are very few new posts. Why was this site so popular two years ago and now there seems to be very little interest?

As I told the wife when she complained about my not talking to her,

Everyone has a time when there is nothing new to say!

reality is, life happened. people move on, get booted off, have jobs that require more time, family members that take sick, and, well....have other things taking their time.

that's not just here, it's everywhere. as an example, I'm one of those freemasons that alex jones swears runs the world. our membership has been waning, as has the membership of most other organizations...civic and otherwise (have you been by a bowling alley lately? ghost towns)

viewership here has always been static. maybe a few of our more outspoken members took a few with them when they left, but, I doubt it.

I get the feeling you'll see more people return.

Also a lot of traffic was driven to internet forums during the "ban scare" panic that drove everybody and their brother out to gun shops and internet sites to buy a gun, because they were afraid they wouldn't be able to buy one in the near future. It got a lot of people off the fence and into a new area where they had a lot of questions about brands, or technical questions they hadn't considered before. Things have kind of settled down. Some new enthusiasts were created. Some of the new gun owners have been satisfied but are not interested enough to continue the conversation, and aren't after the latest and greatest new range toy. Those folks got the knowledge they wanted at the time and moved back to their other hobbies.
