Barrett M99 in .416 Barrett.

I looked at the expense of .338 Lapua rifles and ammunition and it's the only thing that makes sense to me. The .50 BMG is too heavy for my liking, the .338 is too close to commercial .338 RUM or a Lazzeroni Titan in performance, and all the .338 caliber cartridges cost between five and eight dollars, so you may as well spend the same five dollars and get a much bigger and more powerful cartridge.

Interesting comments on the .338. I've always thought the .338 RUM would be a good alternative to the LaPua.

My list includes a S&W Governor 45/410 and an AR platform in .308.

What makes the 338 Lapua round cost as much as a 50 BMG? That seems way high.

the 338 L.M. is about $3.00 and up per round in price.

the 50 BMG rounds are pretty close in price to the 338 L.M.

Can't decide. Thinking about:

Ruger GP100 .357 Mag
Sig 226 or 229 in 9mm or .40
Glock 20 in 10mm

[QUOTE=rockratt;1518587]Never owned an AR type rifle. Been looking at AR 10's. 357 mag is also a possibility.

I don't know. I almost never know. I just suddenly find myself buying a new set of reloading dies for something that just appeared in the safe. It's a funny thing because I know I have all I need.
