Does the ‘Cold’ War count?
The Manchurian Candidate, 1962;
Fail Safe, 1964;
The spy who came in from the cold, 1965;
Torn Curtain, 1966;
The Quiet American, 2001.

I see your ‘Das Boot’ and I raise you ‘The Enemy Below’ and ‘The Bedford Incident’.

I remember a movie with Frank Sinatra playing a business man on a trip to Germany who was manipulated into shooting someone. Anybody remember it? What was it called.

Three would be very difficult for me to choose from, and they are all very different:

  • Band of Brothers
  • Patton
  • Sergeant York

Has no one but me seen "Restrepo"? More of a documentary, but how much greater or accurate can you get than the real thing? I watched it while my wife was out of town for a weekend, because she doesn't allow me to watch war movies anymore. Seems she keeps waking up with black eyes and such.

I watched Restrepo on Netflix a month or so ago. Really good, man. One of the first documentaries that wasn't complete bull****. Pretty touching, too.....

I enjoyed it a lot because I've served in the same area of Ghan, and also got to meet several of the guys in that unit. It just brings it home a bit more .

Oh yeah, I've seen it. I like docs more than dramatic stuff. Gimme some facts, you know?
