Take this from a non recon Marine, those guys have an excuse to be cocky

Same as SEALs, Rangers, and Delta. Even when they aren't doing anything, just the road they had to travel to earn the title...

I did a two week indoc course to qualify for Recon training. I passed, but I damn sure didn't take it any further than that. Pissed my commander off real bad.

Force Recon Marines = Ninjas, those guys are pretty B.A.

And indoc training is nothing to scoff at either. A buddy of mine did the recon indoc a few times and did STA indoc a few times, when asked why he just did the indoc and didn't pursue it...he just wanted to make sure he was still in good shape. This guy was a machine, he was jacked all to hell.

See, I wanted to pursue it until I did the indoc. After that two weeks I spent the weekend on bed rest and 5 days on light duty, which because I was on light duty for the whole week, I spent that following weekend restricted to barracks, for my health and well being of course, which was fine by me as I still didn't feel up to doing a damn thing.

9 days total to recover from that ordeal.

I was in Coronado and ended up drinking with a bunch of SEALS. I remember riding down the highway, on the hood of a car and almost getting run over. Those guys are FUN!

I watch Red Dawn every time I see it on..I have probably seen it 50 times.
Band of Brothers was amazing. The greatest Generation - and it isn't even close.
Full Metal Jacket is a classic.

Yeah, I heard the original director throw a fit, rightfully so, that it ain't time for a remake... but at the same time, maybe they'll do it right this time?

Memphis Belle, Glory and Forrest Gump had some great Vietnam battle scenes.
