As far as the cop aspect of it your right, but if you just watch it as a entertaining action movie its pretty good

bullitt was a fair cop movie, but an excellent car chase movie! it's a classic.

McQ with John Wayne, the '73 Trans Am, and one of the first Ingrams.

another one of my favorites, sort of a cop show was Magnum P.I.

another favorite, Al Pacino in Serpico, definately a classic and based on a true story.

I rather liked "Electraglide in Blue" with Robert Blake (pre-Beretta).
Billy Green Bush as his partner who goes bad.

Sad ending though........

"Blue Thunder" with Roy Sheider was a fun romp. Think they spun it into a series on telly, but I never saw it.

Internal Affairs with Richard Gere is gritty movie. Corrupt cop theme.

I didn't think Jackie Gleason was as funny as he could have been in that movie. I'm not a huge Burt Reynolds fan...but for a long time I was hung up on Sally Field...nicest caboose in hollywood at the time
