What events stand out in your mind?
We probably don't give much thought to this, but what world events (not personal events) stand out in your mind during your life. A good test is probably if you can remember what you were doing when "x" happened and you first heard about it. Just your top five at most...

1. when the twin towers got hit

2. the morning the Challenger exploded after launch

3. the day President Reagan was shot

4. the night the Berlin wall came down

You named the 4 that I was going to name.

Here are my alternates:

1. First joint
2. First car
3. First **** job
4. First time I jumped out of a plane

OMG! I damn near lost a lung on that one...

Here's a couple:

1) When the Twin Towers were hit, I was in Korea and it was the NIGHT of the 11th - bedtime for us overthere, except we never went to bed.

2) When Mt. St. Helens Blew Her Top- I was riding my bike in the front of the house and heard it. Literally.

3) January 25th, 2002 - I damn near died that day, took 12,500 volts of primary voltage in a freak accident and spent two plus days in ICU, by myself, with a few of my guys visiting, but basically alone. That would be JD +1 and Gravelings -1 to date..... F**kers!

Mt St Helens Eruption. Sat on the roof of my house and watched the ash rain down.

Twin towers. Best day of working at a call center. Ever. No calls.

Desert Storm. I was glued to CNN.

Berlin Wall comes down. I worked at a newspaper at the time.

I don't know how it went for you, bro, but I was the one getting it, not giving it.

Dammit, I've been setup again.

1. Berlin wall I remember that.
2. Y2K (I was hoping and praying for it to fix my credit back then) This was a somber time as I was visiting my cousin who was dying from emphyzema and years of being an alcoholic. Which a lot of that stemed from he two tours in Viet Nam.
3. World Series Earthquake (October 17, 1989 at 5:04 P.M.) I was in the garage when everything started swinging and falling off the walls.
4. Challanger happend at 8:39 in the morning. I was getting ready for school. We watched some of it on the TV in school.
5. 9-11 I was at work and had just gave a Rabies shot to a dog when we got the call to shut down and send people home. It was very quiet that day and I hate to say it but I went fishing. They shut down the base and said to go home and wait. All people who didn't need to be on duty were sent home.

Man, when you get old there are sooooooo many of them.

I easily remember:

Carl Chessman's execution.

JFK's election.

Ike's farewell speech (Military-Industrial Complex Warning)
(Originally, in this speech, it was the Military-Industrial-Congressional Triangle)

Marilyn Monroe's "suicide".

And then all the rest.................
