Let's see...
As an empty nester, all I hear is barks, whimpers, yelps, etc...

Then the dogs start making their noises.

I'm pretty sure "meow" could be translated roughly as jackass when coming from my kitties.
As in "Jackass, bring me more food, STAT."

Dad. I also call my children by their first names, never shortened versions or nicknames.

I know the feeling Jack. I've tried to tell them to piss up a rope and then they threaten me with the Wrath of Mom.

My wife is a seriously tough lady but the kids learned to "point" her many moons ago...

My son calls me Daddy and his mother Mommy. Perhaps when he gets older that will change. He has several nicknames I use, but nothing bad, of course.
I'm sure Sarah Brady and the like call me all kinds of names for pictures of him like this...

My son (26) calls us "mom & dad".

My daughter (11) calls us "mommy & daddy".

He is "Kevin", or "Kev".

She is "Kylie", or "Monk". Wife sometimes calls her "Ky".
