I have, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Unless your wanting a HUGE heavy pen, I'd have to put all the mechanics inside the shell, and make it where you could get them out to change the refill. They make kits like that, so I'll eventually get one just to know how it works. (I may be able to find the plans floating around online). That is definitely something I'd love to do.

Those pens are awesome! Why hadnt I thought of that? :-P

Best I can think of is either wind chimes or as a substitute to a bell you might hang on the door of a buisness. Of course they would have to be a rifle caliber in all probability..

I don't do anything as I don't shoot trash ammo in anything I own. I have quality firearms not that JUNK commie crap that shouldn't even be sold here.

No one will be bitching about it if and when there is another serious copper shortage (its original intent) or when copper is no longer reasonably affordable.

Yet another reason I like the Russian rifles!

(And we are going off topic)

My AMERICAN MADE RUGER MINI 30 shoots that "commie crap".

And if you tell Bill Ruger he shouldn't sell something here, I wanna read his reply.

Wow! It's already been a year since this thread died? It doesn't seem like it's been near that long.

Oh well. I thought I'd revive it anyway instead of starting a new thread. I don't think I've ever shown my regular pens here. Sorry for the blurry pics. These things are really hard to get a decent pic of.

Here they are. The first one is Maple Burl (pic came out a little whiter than the wood actually is).

pen-1.jpg

the second one is Brown Mallee Burl. (this pic is just a tad lighter then what the actual pen is)

pen-2.jpg

I just made them last week.

Both the pens here are called "Designer" style pens. They both use Cross style refills, and are plated in 24K Gold. They are somewhat big and beefy, and have a little weight to them.

I make a few more styles too. I'll have to see if I can find some old pics of them somewhere.

Great looking pens Tex! I thought they would be worthy of its own thread.
