better yet, mount an electric gatling gun to the roof, and mount the firing switch to the shifter knob!

i drive a 90 honda civic Si hatchback. i don't really like it but its hard to argue with 33 mpg on a bad day, 36 mpg when i try. i also have 89 cherokee that i loaned to my brother-in-law until he finds something. my wife drive a 96 impreza outback, non-turbo, to haul both the kids around. waiting to be restored is a 70 dodge dart with a slant six and 4spd. i have the 5spd and most of the parts to inject it. i'm also thinking of putting a turbo on it. there is also a 68 bug that will get extensive mods to be a sleeper. think mid engine with a Honda 4cyl. its a wonder i have anytime for guns.

Brian

My first car was a '69 bug. I LOVED that car. I got hit head on in that thing (not my fault) and suffered fairly extensive injuries, but I still LOVED that car. When my boyfriend at the time took me to the junkyard to see the damage to my car, I cried like a baby.

My second car was a 1973 VW Square back. I LOVED that car...................

2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor...It was free. Gas is free. Maintenance is free. I just have to drive it 10 hours a day, 4 days a week.

I will upgrade to a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Package in about April. All the same caveats.

I dig the crown vics. I want one, and they are pretty easy to find cheap. My grandfather had a grand marquis, grandma burned the motor up, so they managed to find a memphis pd cruiser in a junkyard with 15k on it. Motor swap made that marquis run like a scalded dog. Police interceptor rocks.

Every once in a while, you will see one on Ebay set up for CNG. With a $3000 compressor, your gas just got much cheaper.

My first was a '65 beetle previously driven by my father, mother, and three older siblings, loved it. Floated it once.

Yeah, I see them all the time. There are tons of used Crown Vics on the market for anywhere from 1k to 8k, 1999 and up, civvie or police editions. I've been trying to talk my wife into one, and it's getting easier every day. She's been driving a '94 Caddy for a while now, has gotten to like the big boat feel and the V8 power, but has come around to liking Fords more because of the trouble we've had out of the Caddy compared to my '87 Ranger.

When I finally had the money, my Dad told me to look at cars and when I saw one I liked, he'd look at it for me and talk to the seller. I dragged my Dad to look at this beetle and he felt it was a good price and a decent car. I bought it and he offered to drive it home as it was a stick shift and I had no experience driving a manual but I knew the concept. Of course, my first car, I wanted to drive it home. He followed behind me to be sure no one crowded me while I chugged and lurched along. I bought the car about a mile from my home but it took me about 20 minutes to get it home.

I always wondered if they really did float. Do you remember having to scrape frost off from the inside of the windshield in the winter? Damn those air cooled engines. No heat in them in the winter. LOL

If Ted Kennedy had been driving a VW, he would have been President.
