In a mass panic/SHTF situation, you had better be PRE-pared!

Default Just waking up..............

Where have been, You see these azz holes all the time on the news, they riot just cause they think its the thing to do when your team has won nothing more than a tin cup and a title. And lets not forget that favorite toy on the market when it first comes out. Stay home, have guns locked and loaded, and shoot straight. The rest will get the flock out of your sight. I can't wait till the fun hits the fan.............

For those that my have missed it, my zombie apocolypse plans are set forth in this thread:

http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f12/impatiently-waiting-91975/

When I lived in Fort Worth, there were three or four of us who would half-jokenly say, " when the zombie wars come, just bring your guns over to my place and we'll hold 'em off". Now that I live in NW Pa, I have made new friends like that, but they live 30 miles away. Hell, everything is 30 miles away from where I live, even WalMart (a fact that doesn't, in fact, bother me at all -- but there is a gun store about 10 miles down the road, so I don't quite live in an empty wasteland). One is the owner of the cigar shop nearest to me. When the initial chaos blows over, I'll just fill the Kobota from the 1000 gallon heating oil tank, motor over to his place, and ask how many cigars I can get for a brick of .22's.

During the height of the cold war, school children did a drill, associated with a nuclear attack. We bent over, placed our heads between our legs and kissed our asses goodbye.

That is always an acceptable strategy.

My plan is to keep as calm as possible, hunker down, and when it come time to run, trip my wife to slow them down

I have to disagree with your statement here.

In a scenario such as being discussed I feel that would draw more attention to an individual and make him or her a target. And a person could argue that he or she could stand off any threat but, as others in this thread have mentioned, fires aren't all that uncommon in looting and rioting situations and fire can be used as a weapon fairly easily.

True, but having gun-friendly friends helps
