What to buy??
So I'm in the market for a new firearm. But what to buy?? Maybe an officer sized 1911, a mosberg 590 possibly?? Or maybe something else entirely.
What to do?? $1700 max budget.

I fear I will be facing that same conundrum at tax return time, if Odumbo sees fit to give me any of my money back, my choices are a ccw, either S&W Shield or J frame 357, or a left hand bolt 22-250, or a 1911 such as a Ruger or Springfield Mil-Spec. I also have 2 ARs to finish building but that's not going to happen any time soon. Right now I'm leaning toward the ccw or the rifle.

For that kind of money, you could get 3-4 guns, and a lot of ammo.
RIA makes a officers model 1911 for $400-$500. You can get a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500 for $300-$400. That still leaves you with plenty of money. Maybe pick up a Ruger 10/22, or a Ruger Mark III for some cheap shooting. How about a Mosin or a Mauser for some cool historic firearms?
Remember, you can find all these guns cheaper used.

I have a couple of mosin's, I mean I could always use more of those lol. The 1911's I have been looking at start around $880 for a sig to $1400 for a Kimber. Also have a ruger 45/22 it's the wife's but she is nice and will let me use it.

Out of those two, I'd go with the Sig. Have you looked at Colt?

It's not just between those two, the sig was the low end of the price range, and the Kimber was the high end. I looked at s&w as well. I didn't look at colt don't think they had any. Really looking for others input. I did find a Springfield range officers 5" for $800 just not sure I want a full size. I already own a Kimber TLE 2 pro and a Springfield xds.
