That's just me. Don't worry about it.

Seriously, I own a black 2003 Suburban Z71 (and a 1997 Ford Expedition, but I'm not going to brag.......)

A deep interest in firearms; specially handguns. Always on the lookout for a new (to me) forum.

Well, don't just set there, come on in, and have a cold one. Fresh load of BS on the cooker now.

Great topic.

I needed to learn more about firearms and home defense. You know you go all out and buy a house in a nice neighborhood in the burbs, do all the right things and then BAM.....one rental home in the neighborhood and it's all downhill from there.

I quickly figured that they were selling drugs out of the house, not cool considering how many kids are in my area. That said I just realized that (since they are still here and yes it's being handled) that I needed be prepared. Be prepared in case some one tried to roll my house mistaking it for the "drug house". I'm no cowboy but I'll be damned if I was going to let some druggies come in and F up my life and neighborhood.

One good thing about it though is that It's gotten me actively involved with getting a neighborhood watch association going.

hawkster,

I will refrain from calling you an elite separatist for now.

The majority of the populated country looks more like this.

I rented at my last place in a nice (not ritzy) neighborhood. Good schools, kids playing outside with adults keeping an eye out. Most places were rentals, young couples starting out or pre-yuppie types (mostly). I made several friends with people my age (and wifey's too) that actually grew up in that suburb ('bout 60k pop). Long story short, new Mayor and City Counsel took $ from the HMA (seems that if there are plenty of rentals avail, these guys make no $) and closed door voted in more Section 8 % allowed. Previously, there was a cap on the HUD stuff, and it was low, like 2%. Not long after, whole block went to crap. Ask me sometime, and I can tell you some stories. Moved wifey and kid 3 hours away a full 8 months before I made it down for good.

Found it via google. Recently got back into shooting so I figured I would look around and see what is going on in the world of guns. Been doing car stuff but that has gotten too expensive and time consuming.

typed in a question and was taken to this site. Question answered, browsed for a few, joined. I had been on a archery forum non stop till I found this one, I think the last time I was there was a week after I signed up here.
