If you're looking to go SF or some cool guy stuff, I would suggest going 11B first, getting your feet wet and learning how the army works then going to selection. If you go to selection right away and do a crap job, they may not let you go to selection again.

Beast your enthusiasm is admirable but pay considerable attention to what has been stated here. You have a few years before you can enlist so no hurry. I

Sorry, damn computer went haywire,, Beast, I joined the Marines because I was a cocky s.o.b. when I left college. Drill Instructors have a way of,, relieving one of those types of chacter flaws so at least for 3 months I wasn't as cocky. All branches have their advantages also disadvantages, and each has a more specific mission defined from their inception and training reflects this. Elite or special forces are extremely difficult to attain for very good reasons, every MOS has it's purpose and testing will decide which ones you would qualify. No matter which branch you choose, right now you need to study, study, study, and do push ups, sit ups, chin ups, and run, run, and more running. Train your mind and body and your aspirations in the military will be more in reach.

Keep in mind that if you go in with a reserved job and wash out (most special forces type programs in all branches have a very high wash out rate) they have you by the short and curlies. You end up with whatever crap job needs filling at that time.
Good luck.

One thing about the Marine Corps. There is no guarantee you'll even get thru boot camp. On day one, my Platoon Commander said, "On graduation day, half of you people will not be here". That proved to 100% right. On day one there were 84 "people" in my platoon. On graduation day there were 42 of us. I don't know what happens to those who are dropped, but I'd bet that it does not enhance their opportunities in the rest of their lives.

11B is infantry. You can go to selection, it's a volunteer thing. Hell, you can be a desk jockey and decide one day you wanna go SF and go to selection.

Nowadays you can enlist in the Navy with a slot in SO school (Seal Operator). Or, if you don' t like deep water, you can opt for a SeaBee school.
