I don't mind answering a question a time or two. To help a young man out or even help him get into shape. But when you start threads like what branch will I die at or which one is better or this one they start to get on people nerves.

Right on Hoss!

Back OT

IMHO, branch doesn't matter.

Doing your assigned duty to the best of your ability is the measure of a trooper. Whether your assigned duty is clearing a minefield or auditing the payroll records.

Each "duty" has a reason for being there, and is a necessary part of the overall military effort.

I was doing research on delta force and one of the requirements is having a technical score of 110 or higher. Whats a technical score?

Also I read that its hard to enlist as an unassigned ranger and get a 11x option 40. Is this true?

Being in the Navy does necessarily mean that you will be serving on a ship. The Navy has many billets that might fit your wants. My son is a Master Chief. He did spend some time on submarines but the majority of his 21 years was spent doing special operations. He loves what he is doing and he has excelled. The Navy has many more opportunities in just about every discipline you would find in the civilian world than the other services. I do not mean to demean the other services since they also offer great opportunities, however, I do feel that the Navy has more billets than the other services.

They're talking about your general technical score or GT score. It's pretty much an aptitude score the military uses for damn near everything. There are also scores that go along with commo, food, etc. They come from your ASVAB.
