Questions like these are the reason vets have such little patience for civilians.
You are doing your homework and trying to decide which branch will best suit your interests... Which is fine... However...
Service is not about "action"... and when taken in context, "action" boils down to brief moments of terror that you hope you'll be lucky enough to survive.
Service IS about HONOR and INTEGRITY.
Service IS about ALLWAYS doing the right thing in preparation for "action".
Service IS about years of enduring physical, mental, and environmental challenges.
Service, regardless of MOS, is about having the discilpline to deal with years of monotonus and often painful tasks through training cycle after training cycle and not developing a "short timers" attitude.
I hope you'll print out all of the responses to this thread and save them. I can guarantee that "if you enlist"... 4 or 5 years from now... as your contemplating whether oe not to re- enlist... You'll read this again and fully grasp what I am saying.
