Default Weird work hours?

I just got home from work. Started at 630am 7/23, got off at 330 am 7/24. I don't do it a ton, and it's not the most amount of hours I've worked in a row, but for some reason today really hit me hard. Maybe it's the heat/humidity that did me in. Does anyone else work of has worked effed up hours in the past? Is it normal for you or is it in emergency situations or just every so often? And if so what is the reason? I do commercial HVAC, and we do a lot of hospital work. Had to rebuild the blower section of a 40 ton unit for the ER at a local hospital. It went surprisingly smooth, so I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

I just did 12, 12 hour days. 04:00-16:00.
I'm wiped out. It's too much for an oldster like me.
I'm taking next Monday off for a five day weekend.

Funny, spell check turns oldster into molested. Who programs this stuff?

I have about an hour to drive one way to work.
Leave about 10:30 A.M.
Do the 8.
Back at the house about 8:30 P.M.

Meals are scheduled accordingly. But it messes up the mornings and evenings. Can't start anything in the morning that I cannot finish before leaving for work.

But, I am somewhat "gainfully" employed and I am not complaining.
