With just a little imagination, you can make the presents more memorable! I used to know someone that filled water balloons with Mercaptan (see below), put the balloons in the present, and then rig the box to burst the balloons as the flaps were opened. If the thief takes it to his home or car, not only will he be vomiting for several minutes, but he'll have a home or vehicle that can't be occupied for weeks or months without professional cleaning...if you can find someone to do it.
