That has been the case at my local WM forever, because they close the sporing goods area at 10pm every night. It opens again at 7am. It's no change here, I just wish they had more ammo on the shelf.

The only ammo sitting in and out of the locked glass case at 2 of my nearest Walmarts are the following:

.300
.270
.243

Also, small amount of 12 gauge in the 100 round Winchester box and some 20 gauge ammo as well. They do have some .410 ammo that is in the 5 round boxes.

The last time they got small amount of ammo was about a month ago.

The LGS have some; but, it is slim.

Truck days for Sportsman's Warehouse and Dick's the line is out the door.

If speculators buy up the supply, they will unload it in a panic once the shortage ends and the price drops . That will mean bargains for everyone else . It happened with gasoline .

Personally, I think the Democrats may have something to do with this LOL .

If you are in favor of background checks, you deserve to be without ammo .

Maybe they are trying to be like Cabelas and practically every other gun store in the country????

Many if not all of their stores are like this.

Can't buy ammo during that time.
Can't place a special order during that time.
Can't buy new cell phones that require contracts during that time.
Can't get fishing licenses during that time.
Lawn and garden registers are closed during that time.
Deli counter is closed during that time.

I believe they do all of this because they don't see it as profitable to keep the staffing levels high enough to support these types of extended transactions.

Let me ask you this. Is your LGS open between 10pm and 7am?

I'll give you that, although mine still does sell fishing licenses at night.

It just kind of irritated me that they had the keys in their hand and wouldnt sell it.
I had a rough day, so that didn't help either.

I don't think it's that odd. Walmart probably thinks that most people who want ammo that late are pissed at somone and it's a CYA move. The truth is if you can't get it then, that itself is what gets you pissed.
