I think my wife got kinda mad when she sees these people shooting one handed while running and making instant perfect headshots every time. She just started shooting and I think she realizes now it's harder than they make it look in the movies.

Then I had to explain to her in the last episode how silencers aren't that quiet and are essentially worthless without subsonics. That homebrew silencer that carl was using looks like the end of a baseball bat or something. Always a learning experience.

If you go back to the beginning of the first episode, one of the police officers was using a glock, and he was told to take the safety off, and he did. I got a chuckle. Don't get me started about the infinite ammo shotgun during the season 2 finale.

For the record -

I have a suppressor, a very good one, and a .45 caliber round is always subsonic.

So it works quite well, it just doesn't sound like the "pffft" in the movies.

But it's awesome.

Well like someone mentioned previously in the thread, why spend so much time and money on making the zombies look real but not every other detail?

I believe the word you are looking for is "budget".

Aright, you win. But they should still try to be a little more realistic with some things with all the effort they put into makin a "realistic" show.

I'm not knockin the show, it's become one of my favorites. Just surpassed mythbusters.

like JD said.......budget. if the "likes" and the ratings keep goin up on the show, the budget will either get bigger, OR the actors will demand more moulla and the show will go to s!-!it.

they could get a lil more authentic, but i'd be willin to bet that NONE on the set have much dealins with how firearms work........or, @ this point, care for that matter. THE PRESIDENTIAL TRAIN IS ROLLIN WITH FRANKLIN AS THE ENGINEER!!!

Well, considering the actor that plays Rick is in his 30's and has lived in England all his life, I am betting he doesn't know a lot about firearms.

Darryl, Norman Reedus, was one of the Boondock Saints, so he knows his way around firearms, which shows in how he handles all weapons.

I would think that a lot of it has to do that the actors are "shooting" almost all the time, at other actors who are dressed as zombies.

Brandon Lee was killed by a squib blank to the abdomen from approximately 8 feet away.

Jon Erik Hexam shot himself in the head with a blank and it killed him dead on the spot.

Some of the weapon choices may very well be because of the proximity of the zombie actors and required safety measures.

JD
