I agree it should not have been left to roam. I know the guy shot it before he knew what kind of cat it was. Something as rare as a leopard, I was hoping it could have been identified and tranquilized to be taken live.

If the owner of the cat is identified he should be charged with a list of crimes. Obviously it is illegally owned, the should have still reported it missing, it could have killed a person!

Very true. No one's going to 'fess up to illegally owning a leopard. It was probably turned loose because it may have been getting difficult to handle and/or expensive to feed.
