Same thing, but more in the 70s.
Two words: Lead Paint.
Perfectly safe if you don't eat the paint chips or breath the dust from sanding it. It was very likely on many of the toys from that era as well. We all survived. I have it on good authority that I'm not too brain damaged

How about personality....maybe you (we) are entirely different people than we were meant to be...completely altered from additives and poisons. How would you know??

Personality? I'm fairly functional in society at large and some woman that lives in my house decided I'm close enough to marriage material. Must be good enough for govt work. Hey, come to think of it I do work for the govt....

I never thought about it. I was too busy playing with the mercury from the broken thermometer.

Actually, those original super balls were awesome. My brother and I would bounce them hard on the sidewalk in front of our little house and then try to find where it landed in the backyard. Yep, those superballs were that good.
