I understand what you are saying. The parents of these individuals probably believed them as well.

Quote:
Two people a month are being prosecuted for making false allegations of rape and wasting police time, new figures show.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) looked at a period of 17 months finding that in that time 35 people were charged.
We are talking about rape on this occasion but people are falsely accused of crimes all the time.

Had a friend whose foster child accused him of rape when he took her cell phone away after she cut school. Cost him ALOT, financially, personally, emotionally, socially to prove his innocence.

Not saying this is the case here, but it is why we have a court system and rule of law.

The girl claims to have been raped after getting drunk and passing out in the bed of the guy who was asking for sex in a text message. Reasonable doubt.

Um, yes in this case it does not seem like the girl was as innocent as the driven snow.

If my daughter were raped, I might be tempted to act on my own, but if caught would expect to be prosecuted. What we are talking about here is revenge, not justice. It is against our whole concept of a justice system where guilt or innocence is determined in a court of law, not by mob rule.

You know, I do not think I would find my daughters in this situation in the first place. They have good Christian upbringing. I teach my children to always be aware when around others. Never put yourself in a compromising situation. Do not impair yourself in public. I also teach them combatives with and without weapons. Notice I did not say self defense. Karate and such will not help you in the real world. There is no points or stopping matches. Back to topic, when you take ones stupidity and naivety out of the equation, all there is left is the predator. That is why I would believe my daughter. Then again, if my daughter remembers her training, maybe I would not have to get involved. I might have to help with the wet cleanup though.

I mostly agree with what your saying but have become less trusting of our gov to get it right and make sure it doesnt happen again (the OJ effect). Watching OJ play golf after getting away with murder was pretty demoralizing. Micheal Jackson got the same treatment, catch and release. The two Boston bombers could have easily been prevented form committing the crimes they were obviously planning but that didnt happen either.

Our own gov has become distracted from doing the jobs they are supposed to, to busy creating mew crimes to deal with the ones that offend age old norms. Criminals getting away with murder only inspire vigilantism and street justice.

Locally, we have one dead teacher and her daughter that was raped and brutalized by a sex offender that was under the watchful eye of the law. This type of thing causes us to make sure it cant happen again.

Right or wrong, if it stops crooks from attacking your wife or daughter, you would do whatever it took to do it!

I guess I am a little confused here on this one! Let me see, he texted her and advised her he wanted her to come over drink, smoke marijuana and have sex!And she even asked him about why he wanted to have sex with her prior to the incident! If I am not mistaken my Question is, why did she go there in the first place and expect anything different since the game plan had already been revealed by the scum ball? And then she woke up in his bed! Boy that is a shock. Certainly not taking up for the scum bag but something just isn't right on this one! Simply the scum bag being a multiple offender should just be shot and save the taxpayers a lot of money.

It is a no win situation. If you take the law into your own hands you can expect the law to deal with you as a criminal. I dont know if the guy got what he deserved or if the girl just had a grudge. In the old Mafia days the guy would have had every bone in his body broken by a highly skilled unknown assailant and left alive on purpose. They had a lot of specialists.
