Default videogames and guns?

Do you thinks videogames are making gun use more realistic?

It seems some games are actually trying to give proper credit to the variety of guns and actually make correct estimations of what they look like. I'm sick of all the FPS just have the Deagle.

So what are your thoughts?

I have only played some basic games like Half-life and doom. They do a pretty good job by showing the kick-back and the guns look pretty realistic.

Yeah the only problem though, is that most of the time the accuracy of the guns is totally different then the real guns. Obviously it's required to support the game play, it would be pretty hard game for most people to play if everyone could pick up a Colt 1911 and drop people like flies.

I do think though that many games have helped spread some firearm knowledge such as Counter-Strike.

You have never been thumped by a real gun! Gamer software has no clue! All my kids can drop me video games, but when it comes to shooting, I reign supreme! JP

While most video games today get the looks and name right I find thats about it. Accuracy, range, effect, and capacity are usually wrong.

I think the Call of Duty games are spot-on in terms of firearm function and accuracy.
