I was really young 5 or 6 shooting my dads single shot bolt action 22 that he got from sears in the early 50s I really don't remember but I do remember being about 8 the first time I shot my dads pistols man I felt so bad ass with that ruger security six loaded with 38 special

I was around 8 or 9 yrs old. My dad got damn serious and gave me some instruction on firearm safety. He shot this sweet little rifle (Belgium made Browning .22 auto) and then put it in my hands. I was the happiest kid on the planet. Cancer got him when I was 16. Every time I see one of those rifles I get choked up thinking about him. That might be why I haven't bought one.
I remember my first time, wasn't the best trip. I went with my dads friends, I was like 9 or 10 I think. The first gun I shot was a 308 bolt gun. Not sure of the make or model. I do remember that it had a scope! I think you guys can figure out what happened next. I had a nice shiner for a week. The sad part is they thought it was funny, I wanted to pop them one so bad!
