Default Unexpected cool christmas gifts

had to post this cause im really psyched about it. this christmas i received a1938 mosin nagant 91/30 from my brother. caught me totally off guard. it may be old and a little rough looking but the history behind it more than makes up for it. being somewhat new to firearms ownership and this being my first rifle, its a great starting point. cant wait to post some range reports.

Congrats! Range in Jersey? You must be one of the lucky ones with a CCW?!?

Wow! That would be a very cool first rifle.

Agreed on the picses! Have you ordered your sealed tin of inexpensive surplus ammo yet? Don't forget they do sell hunting ammo too.

Congratulations! Mosins are fun rifles to shoot.

did a quick search and found tins (440 rds ea) for around $100 at natchezss.com and sportsmansguide.com. you have to be carful though because surplus ammo i believe uses primers that are corrosive to the barrel and other parts. you can use it but you gotta clean your rifle after every outing.
