one big car i owned years ago, that i realy liked for it's ride was 1973 Chevrolet Impala two door sedan. pale yellow with a black vinyl roof. had a 400 small block with a 4 barrel carb, dual exhaust and an automatic transmission. did a little custom work to the engine, like an aluminum intake and a Holley carb, Accel electronic ignition, put a set of headers on it with some turbo mufflers. lowered it about 2" all around, put on some better shocks and then installed some lower profile 70's on the factory steel rims. that car rode like a Cadillac on the highways and the freeways! cruising at 85 mph was almost boring it rode so nice.
i had that one for a little over two years before my wife at the time decided to tangle with another car and because the car was so old the insurance company was going to total her. they wanted to give me $200 and take the car for salvage. i ended up settling for $1000 and i kept the car. i ended up buying a 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo from the guy i worked for and ended putting the engine out of the Impala into it. then traded the Impala to one of the guys at work for his 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix that needed an engine. i had an old 1973 Catalina that was wrecked pretty bad on the drivers side but had a really decent running engine that i ended up putting into the Grand Prix.
so out of the wrecked Impala i ened up with two nice cars with some sweat equity!
