Default Tyrod Taylor's youth football camp

Was invited to help coach at Tyrod Taylor's ( Baltimore Ravens QB ) youth football camp that was hosted in his hometown of Hampton Va. We had a blast, been coaching youth football for 6 years now and never a dull moment. Also a Newport News native showed up, the always a crowd favorite Micheal Vick ( Eagles QB ). What these guys do here for the kids is not as publicized as I think it should be, the camps these guys host are free so that everyone can attend, food, drinks (gatorades), t shirts, that they stayed and signed everyone before the kids left at the end. Great guys. Going to Antione Betheas ( Indianapolis colts )camp in a couple of weeks, another Newport News boy with a big heart. Sorry to ramble, but just wanted to give props to these guys for the things they do off the fields to give back to the area they come from.

It is cool! Anytime adults mentor kids is a good thing. You and the nfl guys are doing a service for the next generation as well as the community.

Thanks guys just wanted to let people know that even though they have " made it ", they haven't forgot to give back to their community. As for me I've been coaching for 6 years now, and grew up rough much like the kids I coach, aim to give these kids a different outlook, hopefully instilling strong work ethic, and realization that they are not stuck in the violent cycle of poverty and gangs. To many we coaches are the only positive male mentors they have. Not trying to toot my own horn, these kids reward me plenty, hell maybe one day I'll write a book of all the crazy things these kids do and say, not a day goes by I don't laugh. I think I get just as much out of it as they do...
