I just watched a movie called "the mist". Let me just say that was one of the most ****ed up endings I have ever seen.

The mist is a Stephen King short story turned movie. And yes the ending is jacked up

"day by day Armageddon" (another book) was pretty good, not great, but worth the read.

"American apocalypse" (book also) is a fresh take, focusing on economic collapse as the harbinger instead of zombies. And that was cool, but by book 2 it gets a little... Fantastic? (as in unbelievable fantasy....)

Movie-wise, I haven't seen a good one since "book of Eli" and "contagion" both which crap out in the third act...
I too, thought WW Z was a well written take on the EOTWAWKI. Movie's coming out next year I think.

Not sure if 12 Monkeys or Melancholia have been mentioned but they're both great movies. If you have time, the TV show Jericho is the most realistic apocalyptic show I've ever seen and probably real close to what things would actually be like in an event like that. You can find it on Netflix and other places I'm sure.

The one movie that is so freaking scary, because it is so real
After Armageddon.

Zeigiest series of movies are interesting because of the information they contain.
