Some people just like to think they're the bees' knees. And they refuse to post credible sources because it demeans them or some rubbish.

Its silly, really.

so very true JW. i may have been born at night, but it sure wasn't last night! my father would probably be very disappointed in me, if i were to just accept what others say at face value, as being the all told gospel if i didn't verify it for myself. my father didn't raise any fools by any means. he taught my brother and i to think for ourselves so we could draw our own conclusions to make better decisions in life. so far it has served me well.

I hope you woke on the other side of the bed today

Backing up statements with sources has almost become 2nd nature to me. Maybe it was from writing papers for my advanced degrees, or maybe it's just the crazy undocumented claims members will make in a forum

I'll be the first to admit that before my time on FTF my knowledge on firearms was minimal even though I had experience with them! I've learned more than I ever could have hoped for, and made some great friends along the way. My collection isn't the biggest (although sometimes I wish it were bigger) two bb/pellet guns, three rifles, a pistol, and a shotgun. Not exactly anything to write home about! The things that attracted me to this place was the same as many of you, my love of firearms, and the friendly folks! Many of you are like a second family to me (even though I am the good looking one! ) All kidding aside, I cannot see myself anywhere else!

this is why when a person posts something that they are credible and have integrity since there are many here, who are new to guns and are just starting out. they came here looking for information and knowledge and i think they deserve the best we have to offer. that means being as factual or as objective in our suggestions or advice.

and there is a huge difference between fact and opinion. some people do need to learn to seperate the two. unless you can offer something to support a particular statement or comment, it's an opinion, not fact.

I tend to post in the " community" parts of the forum for this very reason. My firearms knowledge is very specialized. It basically consists of what hand loads work best in MY Ruger red label and left handed 1100 trap guns. I dabble in cap and ball pistols, and my .357 Ruger Blackhawk and .45 acp colt clone, but my real knowledge is very limited so I lurk and study and learn.

I disagree. I have nothing to prove. Don't like my post? Too bad.
You want proof, you can do your own homework. Good luck
ever proving me wrong, but I'm retired. If I don't even work for
me, what makes you think I'd work for you?
