I would definitely say don't do it. Why?
Anyone can buy a boat. Can you afford to maintain it? That's where the real cost is. That's what's feeding MobilMarines family.
Have you taken the USCG Boaters Saftey class? If not, you should before you even consider buying a boat. It's free btw.
The "new" usually wears off pretty quickly then it becomes a chore towing, launching, and retrieving it, so you use it less and less. Ever wonder why you see so many small boats for sale?
But if you do decide to buy a boat remember, YOU and you alone are responsible for every person that ever sets foot aboard. Saftey is paramount. It's a huge responsibility that far too many people either take for granted or completely ignore.
All that said, go take the class and enjoy.
