Wow, that is incredible. Even in my country school we took a more "Guns Are Not Toys, They are Dangerous and You Shouldn't Play With Them" view in public education. They don't bother to explain how to be safe. Thankfully I grew up with a firearms education. I am glad to hear that there are a few people out there that are teaching how to be safe!

I was, too! I was getting ready for one of those ridiculous liberal sermons about how guns are evil, this caught me completely off guard.

To be honest, I don't think enough parents will sign the permit for the range trip, but even if they only get a couple of lessons from a good instructor it's a HUGE improvement. One of the instructors at my club trains kids who compete in rimfire rifle matches, so he knows how to teach children.
