I think I know what you mean. And if I am correct, then depending on how difficult taking the actual barrel out and putting in a new one, I could do it fairly rapidly, maybe as little as a minute.

7.62x51 and .308 are the same round. 7.62x51 is just the metric designation for the .308.

Oh. So they are different rounds to... ok.

Hey, I saw on tv once a long while ago a machine gun, much like the saw, but smaller with a greater rate of fire. If memory serves, it was supposed to replace the saw, for a special operations unit, or something like that. Anyone know anything about it?

Mossy 500 and the Rem 870 are most common pump shotguns around (at least in the USA).

Not sure, but I know that the Marines are phasing out the M249 SAW in favor of the M27 IAR.
