Invited a dozen people for dinner, fixed the full Thanksgiving spread, nobody showed. All but one had good excuses.

Just tote it down to the local homeless shelter, if there even is a local one. They would love it.

Why do people do that? So rude and thoughtless.

My oldest son and his fiancee are planning their wedding. We fear trying to get all the RSVP's back with honest answers so they could plan the head count for the meal. They don't want to pay for a whole bunch of meals for "no shows".

Thanksgiving horror stories................

Going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving (or any holiday). My ex had 10 brothers and sisters (total 9 boys, two girls). The chaos, noise level, poor planning...............it was enough to drive me crazy. When meal time came, it was a like a flock of vultures swooping down to eat the food. No civility, no manners. I usually sat with the younger kids in the basement under the pretense I was keeping an eye on them. It was a survival thing.

Wasn't funny. (LOL) Often times, there wasn't even enough food for everyone to get one serving, let alone seconds of certain dishes.
