Tax Evader Stand Off
Anyone recall reading a story a few months back about a man who did not pay taxes in decades. The IRS arrested his wife and was after him.
He spent a large chunk of the money building his home into a self sufficient compound and stock piling food and ammo.
He said he would come out and pay the taxes if the Government provided the document besides the Amendment stating you must pay income taxes. Else he would not come out and would shoot it out with police.
I was wondering whatever happened to him but can't find anything?

Last I heard, he was tried in absentia, convicted and sentenced to five years.
The man has my respect for standing up to the feds.

CNN just had a story about them still taunting police from their compound and all their supporters are outside ... seems like the town is getting fed up and want a raid or quicker end ... seems like this guy is going to fight to the death.

Tax Evader stand off?
Hello all
RON L here = SERESURPLUS
I've been a law abiding person all my life, did my job, paid my taxes, but sometimes you have to ask yourself, why so much? I mean, it's not like withthis sort of government as we have in the good all USA, we have any say on how our money is spent, how much of it we have to pay and how each year we are more and more paying for those that don't work, expect a hand out and the goverment, seems content in supporting them? Neither political party has the balls to do anything, they spend and spend, and if someone like this felow objects, just look at how it's handled? Surround his house and threaten him? I mean, I'm not in Gov conspiries, but wrong is wrong? Another here mentioned Waco and the Branch Dividians, I remember Ruby Ridge, a different deal alltogether, but a clear indication of what the government will do, if they feel you are out of line? I was part of that for 24 years, (Navy), but seen and saw a lot that makes me wonder what happened to the old USA I knew? I'm not sure this sort of conduct gets you any positive attention or advances any positive goals, but Yes, IT IS GOOD TO SEE SOMEONE DO IT, ONCE IN A WHILE? Perhaps a TEA Party is in order sooner than we want to believe? Just a few thoughts?

I can definetly understand civil disobedience in order to try and make things change. Hopefully it stays non-violent.
