I feel bad for the people without power right now due to the storms last night. As far as I know my grandmother and aunt both do not have power nor a generator which I insisted to my grandmother on getting ever since she moved to the country 30 miles from civilization in any direction. Supposed to be over 100 and people are without electricity to cool down their houses today. Thank goodness mine came back on last night. My aunt however quickly called this morning at 8am and she is headed here to spend the day since she is still without power. It will be a long day.

I wish they made a sugar free Gator Aid. My wife is diabetic & while a little may not be dangerous for her, can't drink a lot of it. Also, she is extremely susceptable to heat. If we loose power, we have no choice but to leave & find a motel, etc.

I believe Powerade makes a sugar free electrolyte drink.

We'll check on it, thanks. I don't recall that particular brand, but we checked all that we could find at grocery stores & wally world last year during the drought/heat wave & didn't see any. Luckily, even with all the fires around us, we didn't lose power & just stayed home in the air conditioning. Did our grocery shopping at night.

Golly- from an old diabetic- there are a number of isotonic drinks with NO sugar. Sqwincher has one- and Crystal Light is one you may find at the grocer. You are looking for sodium and potassium. Sugar and caffeine work against you- sugar creates heat- caffeine is a diuretic- you will pee away the fluid.

We're familiar with Crystal Light, but hard to find around here now, for some reason. It use to be real common at our grocery store & we kept it at the house year round.
