I don't know about "strange"... but unusual at the time. I'd have to say the XM174 which was an early prototype of the Mk19.

I am bidding on an auction site for an air powered walking stick gun if I win it we will take it apart together and fire it. It is circa 1880.

That would be something you don't see every day.

i've got a "full auto" bb gun, the most it will shoot is in 8 round bursts but that's still good enough. everyone loves shooting that thing.

a couple years ago at the range, some guy had a bolt action carbine (forgot what brand) in .375H&H. he asked if i wanted to shoot it, i didn't, but figured what the hell. talk about rattling teeth, i don't know if i hit the target since it took a few seconds to bring the muzzle back down. why someone would put that round through a 16 or 18 inch barrel is beyond me

I think the oddest gun I've ever fired was a Lancaster two barreled 'howdah' pistol. It looks like one of the High Standard derringers from the 60s-70s, except was full sized and chambered for .577 Snyder.

The recoil rocked me back onto one foot.

I launched a ton of conventional bombs from a B1-B Bomber during my time as a Weapons Officer in the USAF... does that count?
