You missed the part where I stated COMPLETELY QUALIFIED!!!!

Obama is so far out of his depth in this one, he would be in, over his head, in a parking lot puddle....

Maybe. Being married and raising children says a lot about a person's stability and commitment, though.

Again, maybe. There's a big difference between being affiliated with a religion and being a spiritual person. If we're talking hard-core atheist and someone who has denigrated those who believe in God, no, they would not get my vote.

Someone who has no proven track record for stability and commitment, or who has looked down on religion and those who embrace it is not completely qualified, IMO. They may have some great qualities that would be beneficial to a president, but they'd be falling short in other regards.

One more comment, and this may come as a terrible shock to some, but I have to echo supergus: no way would I vote for a muslim. Islam is as much a political entity as it is a religious one, and shari'a law is incompatible with our constitution.

According to the Constitution, he is completely qualified: "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Now, is he fit for the office? Nope.

Again, refer to my previous statement. The man is not qualified to get my vote....

The only chance to save our country is to restore our Second Amendment rights. That can only be done by voting based on one issue . If you allow yourself to toss away a gun rights candidate because of some comfortability issue, you deserve what you get.
What we get is anti-gun Democrats and anti-gun Republicans who sell us out to the Democrats while cooing, " I'm a hunter ".
See, what matters is gun rights only. Let the politicians know that we cannot be bought off with handouts, tax breaks, better roads, schools and housing . Tell them, "You are either with us or against us. Don't give us your balony-speak up at every opportunity and say, "Repeal the gun laws ".
Do not vote for any Democrat until they remove gun control from their party platform .
We are powerful enough to cast the deciding vote in any election-if we wake up !

If I remember correctly, a few former Presidents have been single.

+100 Tough crowd!

I don't approve of Gays, nor would I "knowingly" vote for one. Race? I don't care, but to get my vote he/she would have to be on the same page I'm on, regarding cleaning up America's backyard. Ditto for women running for office.

I want to see this massive Government waist & corruption be stopped in its tracks. Obama doen't have the balls, in fact... he's one of "them".

That's my two cents...

I'm not commenting gay, single, race or religion. I would like to draw an analogy that in all species the testosterone fights for territory and the estrogen combined with progesterone will fight to the death to protect the nest. We have a chance to get both in McCain/Palin.

I don't know if some of you might not know this.

Quote:
James Buchanan, Jr.[1] (April 23, 1791 – June 1, 1868) was the fifteenth President of the United States (1857–1861). To date he is the only President from Pennsylvania and the only never to marry. He is also speculated by some historians to have been the first and, to date, only gay President of the United States.....

For 15 years in Washington, D.C., prior to his presidency, Buchanan lived with his close friend, Alabama Senator William Rufus King.[12] King became Vice President under Franklin Pierce. He took ill and died shortly after Pierce's inauguration, and four years before Buchanan became President. Buchanan and King's close relationship prompted Andrew Jackson to refer to King as "Miss Nancy" and "Aunt Fancy," while Aaron V. Brown spoke of the two as "Buchanan and his wife."[13][14] Further, some of the contemporary press also speculated about Buchanan and King's relationship. Buchanan and King's nieces destroyed their uncles' correspondence, leaving some questions as to what relationship the two men had, but the length and intimacy of surviving letters illustrate "the affection of a special friendship,"[13] and Buchanan wrote of his "communion" with his housemate.[15] Such expression, however, was not necessarily unusual among men at the time. Circumstances surrounding Buchanan and King's close emotional ties have led to speculation that Buchanan was America's first homosexual president.[13] James W. Loewen, in his book Lies Across America, points out that in May 1844, during one of the interruptions in Buchanan and King's relationship that resulted from King's appointment as minister to France, Buchanan wrote to a Mrs. Roosevelt about his social life, "I am now 'solitary and alone', having no companion in the house with me. I have gone a wooing to several gentlemen, but have not succeeded with any one of them. I feel that it is not good for man to be alone, and [I] should not be astonished to find myself married to some old maid who can nurse me when I am sick, provide good dinners for me when I am well, and not expect from me any very ardent or romantic affection."[16][17][18] The only President never to marry, Buchanan turned to Harriet Lane, an orphaned niece whom he had earlier adopted, to act as his First Lady.

Although I don't necessarily approve of the lifestyle nor would I want to get a detailed description of their sexual practices as we got during Clinton's "Lewinsky"-gate, if they were a life time member of The Pink Pistols then I'd vote for them. Especially if they were running against someone as bad as the current Democratic candidate.

BTW, one of the plaintiffs in the Heller lawsuit is a member of The Pink Pistols and has used his firearm to fend off a "gay bashing" assault.
