ZG, I pick up anything small off the shelf with one hand (watch, can of corn, yogurt cup, etc.) and hold it up towards my intended photo target. Then aim camera with the other hand and shoot past your held-up phony target and get your WM-monster target. They can't say anything because you have the defense that you were messaging your sick mother at home and asking her if that is the item she wanted you to pick up! If spouse is with you, have them hold up item in path of intended target so you can adjust/zoom/shoot with both hands.
