I love that!!!!!
If this had happened in the US, their Families would have sued everyone including the Van Manufacturer for negligence! In Mexico, they gotta supply their own shovels and diggers if they dont want them tossed on a burning pile after the Radiation eats them alive.
Funny scary short story- Our Unit was told to turn in all our compasses because they had radioactive reticle illumination (worked well, not like the new POS's they reissued). They were deemed dangerous due to low dose long term exposure risk so we turned them in to the supply Sgt and he put them all in one big barrel! Turns out, when you put 250 low dose radioactive devices in a barrel, they emit one much higher dose toxic wave! They were stored in our arms room for 4 months before someone playing with a dosimeter that was stored in the arms room realized the meter was reading in the red just like all the other meters they tried in the Arms room! The Barrel was gone the next day but there was trace radiation left behind on everything in the room (Trace is what they called it,,,,). Gives you a warm fuzzy feeling doesnt it????
While this one was a simple theft of a less than simple cargo by simpletons, this does bring up a real concern. Have you ever seen a sign on a van with a Radiation warning sticker on it? They put them on propane tankers when its captain obvious that the trucks are carrying explosive cargo but Ive never seen a Radiation Warning on a Van. We have medical and dental facilities all around CNY, how do they get their products and dispose of their waste yet Ive never seen an armed escort or a warning sign on any transport vehicle, Hmmm...
The damn Medical industry uses and transports almost as much radioactive material as the NRG Producers do! We cant even ship the rods out of a reactor to Utah but they move millions of Lbs of highly radioactive stuff around to Medical Facilities every year. Think the Terrorists wont figure this out sooner or later?
