6 detained in mexico city for stealing cobolt 60. Not good. Read it on ap a few mins ago. The driver of the truck stopped to rest. Armed men then tied him up and took the cobolt 60 from its case. Where the hells the drivers security team. Where the mexican army? Im not to sure how we handle radioactive medical waste here, i hope its safer than 1 driver in a van.

The article says they are being questioned after medical treatment, which is a big difference from being arrested. It's probably from the U.S., which is why Barry covered for Holder awhile back.

The way I read the story was they stole a van, and got curious about what was in the containers, and opened them. None of the cobalt was stolen, it was all recovered.

They will likely die from radiation exposure. Problem solved.

We got lucky this time. I just cant see being that laxed on protection. Being its such a dangerous cargo.

Cobalt-60 is used mostly for medical and academic purposes. It is not a weapon grade material. Handling it safely requires equipment and training. The story is basically for the "world's dumbest criminals" roster.

Very true. Even worse is placed in a public water supply. Most small communites dont moniter for nuke bio and chem. The worst thing is to put **** like this on the news. Now the real bad people have an idea on where to find the material and roughly where and when it moves. I thow theres probly worse stuff floting around on the black market. Y pay for somthing you can steel for free.
