As much as I hate the snow and the cold, the spring, summer, and fall of New England is hard to beat. I went to AZ for two weeks one summer, and I couldn't wait to get back to MA (believe it or not). Its too hot there and I was the minority. I'm still not sure if I want to try living in VT or NH. Any state is looking pretty good right now, except CA.

I can't wait for the economy to turn around so my taxes can keep paying for the "Big Dig" instead of pot-hole filled roads in my home town.

I would suspect that 10 years from now, VT will still be a whole lot less restrictive than NH.
Maine? I've lived in Maine all of my life and have yet to see restrictive gun laws. Taxes? Oh, yeah - no question. But gun laws? We have open carry, shall issue, don't see the restrictive laws.

So, since everyone has brought up good and bad things about both states, and voted 50/50, I'm still undecided. So my next question to everyone is, what would be your deciding factors on choosing which state to move to?

Coin flip. Heads Vermont-tails NH.

I think at this point it is up to what's in it for you, personally. Be a little indulgent and don't feel guilty. Justify it as what's best for your family. Environment included (best schools, community, family, etc.). Just my $.02
