Stars earn stripes

A new tv show on NBC. You guys watching this? It has great missions and weapons. What do you guys think of the show?

I watched the first episode. The guns were flashy, just enough to keep my attention. I have the series set to dvr.

I saw the commercials and decided to pass. No offense to those who enjoy the show, but I think they should have called it "B-list celebs do some military stuff in a controlled environment to ensure their safety that in some small way kind of mimics real military operations".

B-List celebs but paired with Actual US heroes.
Great show. finished watching their 4th episode tonight.

Chris Kyle might as well be the real Captain America. If you haven't read his book you are missing out. Yes I have read Carlos Hathcock's Marine Sniper.

I think the show does a decent job for being a TV show. They are just training missions.

Wes Clark is doing his best to keep the show on course, which as his original intention, was to highlight the quality of our military, the training they go through, and to show how tough their missions are.

however, they still have to add "flash" to keep the boobs attracted to the TV to get the point across, so they added in fake explosions and crap. For example, shooting the M203, when they miss the target no explosion, nothing. but when they hit the target suddenly there's a giant fireball/explosion and a wooden tower disappears in a shower of splinters. --so much for "live ammo" makes you wonder if the rifles are equipped with some sort of advanced MILES gear that you can't see, unlike the old bulky, strap on crap, or if they're just shooting blanks anyway and the targets "fall over" randomly.

They are raising money for veterans and increasing interest in veterans issues, active military, and shooting sports. Seems like a win all the way around.

The show is interesting enough but they should just give Todd Palin the metal up front and let the rest compete for second place.

70cuda, This is no 'surviving the cut' documentary (awesome insight into special forces and what they actually have to do to get in). This is a decent short series (10 episodes maybe?). This might remind Americans up to realize we are still at war.

Can't wait for the 2-hour season finally.

Here are some of the weapons i've seen
  • Scar 16 + 40mm launcher
  • Barret 416 (correct me if i'm wrong)
  • Baretta Px4 storm in 9mm
  • M240 B
  • M2
  • Remington Modular Sniper Rifle (MSR) (.338 Lapua Mag ???)

Am I forgetting anything?

Crazy season fanally where 2 seals and a special forces stormed a ship.

Everyone performed and the weapons were fast
  • milkor MG 140 (6-pack attack)
  • Barrett REC7

Bummed out that Tod didn't finish in first. Also Chris Kyle looked a biterked he and Dean didn't take 1st. Wonder if there is going to some street cred lost because storming a ship and taking out targets is supposed to be his forte.
