What you think of that?
I think a major shortcoming of civilization is, that when you do not have to scramble 18 hours a day to keep from starving, you have time to devote to lamebrained things.

So anything that takes some effort and intellect to learn we should lower to the least common denominator?

Great message for the kids.

Don't worry about hard work, dedicated study, and choosing to try and excel in life, we'll dumb things down for you.

The dumbing down has been going on for a long time. If the current commies in power have their way, nobody will need any education beyond what they tell you is needed. The dumber the massed educated to their indoctrinations the better it is for them. Excellence has no place in Socialism/Progressivism/Communisim. Keep in mind that the current SCOTUS during her campaign for POTUS said it was time to stop being a country of individuals. Ever read the main points of the Communist Mannifesto?

Damn commies!

I understand the dumbing down perfectly.

This strikes a chord (see there is an H in cHord) with me. My youngest daughter is a spelling bee girl. She did well this year in her region, 3rd.

Antidisestablishmentarianism, yeah got it right (without spell check), had to learn to spell this word when I was in the 4th grade, as far as the meaning ??? I think it has something to do with England trying to disassociate itself from The Church of England, interesting Iíll do some more reading!
Yeah, the dumbing down has got to stop, and we have to stop it at a local level, I went to a grandsons ball game awhile back, and they didnít keep score, all the kids hit until they scored, but no score was kept and the game was a tie. WTF, so yeah I immediately confronted the coach, and he said yeah thatís how they play now. So Iím taking the kid shooting next time I go and will give him a dime for every time he gets on the paper and a buck if he hits the bullseye. I hope he donít break me with the Henry I bought him for Christmas! And yeah Iíll teach him to spell too!

Antidisestablishmentarianism, means, I believe, the people who are against the people who are against Government. (in a nutshell)

The dumbing down of America has been going on for a while. Schools seem to be more "student mills" for lack of a better term. Too many students in the classroom, etc, etc.

Although, we do have some pretty messed up spelling/pronunciation going on.
Example. Comb-Bomb-Tomb. Virtually the same spelling and three different pronunciations. WTF!!
