Default Sothern California Real Estate Prices

The following pictures might depress you if you live in Southern California. The first house is for sale in Venice, California for a cool $1.3M while the second one is going for $1.5M in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Which house would you rather own?

I would not live in California. I have never been to Ft. Wayne. But if I had 1.5 Million to spend on a home? I would buy a small ranch in the Rocky Mtns. where the Elk cross my range every Fall.

For the ASKING price of some areas, instead of a house, you can usually buy a zip code here! Or at least a good chunk of a neighborhood.

Typical of the "today" in the Peoples' Яepublik of Kalifornia. Back in 1962 my parents bought a small, 3 bedroom house on a 50 x 150 lot (unusual for any "regular" neighborhood there) in Orange county for $13,000 (I paid $17,000 for my new car in 1996). The house was built in 1952 so it wasn't all that "new." Over the years several improvements were made including adding a room to the front of the house. In 2001, when they decided to move to Nevada to be closer to their one and only (me), they sold the house......for $385,000!

I wish I could drag my house to Southern California.

Subsidized housing market, see what our tax dollars will buy in a socialist state!

Ridiculous price on the first home. For just another 200 thousand you get a castle elsewhere. Strange, how in Florida every house seems to be losing their value, and no one truly knows why.

yes i would spend $200,000 more and move to Indiana! i think they are much more gun tolerant there also.

i have visited family in California and my mother tried several times to get me to move there. i may visit, but i will never move there!
