I'm still driving the car I bought brand new in 1996. Here it is in front of my parents' house while it was under construction in 2001:

Red T-Bird with the 4.6 litre V-8. Still runs like a champ with 83,000 miles on it.

One good thing about living in the desert is that your vehicles last longer.
I still have my 1974 International Harvester Scout II. Right hand drive.
Don't drive her every day due to the gas mileage.
I usually drive my little Saturn Wagon toad. (toad as in towed behind the RV)

I'm in a similar boat. I just can't pull the trigger and make the decision on what I want.

Well, Notdku, you and JD should remember one thing: whatever you decide on, it should not be from Government Motors....

I like my new Mazda CX-9 that I have, but this thread reminds me of how much I miss my old Subaru Impreza WRX. I regret selling it. Then again I'm probably only remembering the good parts and forgetting all the little things that broke but I still miss it.

Welcome to the club. I've been out and about looking for some 4-wheel drive vehicle. I saw a nice Jeep Commander for $8K on a car dealer's site but when I went to see it physically, I found out it was only 2-wheel drive. Jeep making 2-wheel drive? Sacrilege. Also looking at H2 Hummers but haven't found one for a decent price. They were overpriced to begin with and used ones, with less than 100K miles are still going for more than a new 4-wheel drive Jeep. I guess I'm going to have to hit the bank and see what kind of vehicle loan I can qualify for. I'm keeping the T-Bird but want an off-roader to go out and tear up the desert around Las Vegas. T-Birds don't do well in the dirt...as I found out 6 years ago when I got stuck for 4 hours in the middle of nowhere...in July.
