Smoking is my biggest vice. Quitting is fairly easy but I gain weight like mad once I quit. I quit for over 6 months cold turkey without any issues but I gained 80 LB without really eating more. I have COPD. If I am overweight I can't breath. Even if I was healthy my breathing would be obstructed with a huge belly, not to mention the back pain.

Nicotine speeds up your metabolism making weight loss very easy. Yup, I am smoking again. My doctor doesn't make sense when we talk. He says I need to quit smoking and lose weight at the same time. Statistics say the average person gains 40 LB when they quit smoking. Even his nurse says he is not being realistic.

I worry too much about what "might" happen and I think it's part of the reason I don't sleep well. I'm working on removing any negative people from my life and tying up loose ends so I don't have much to worry about.

Come this Tuesday, Christmas day, it will be 2 months.
I no longer cough at random, feeling like I'm going to lose a lung.
I can walk, talk, and lift stuff without getting out of breath.
I still desperately need some exercise though.
And I've gained 10 pounds. Not too bad I think, considering I'm such a pig.
