Like (I believe it may have been the first episode) the Twilight Zone. A pilot cracking in a sensory deprivation chamber.

After having my ears almost continually assaulted by loud motorcycles, half deaf teenagers trying to talk on cell phones Rock music(???) and African jungle music(????), I could enjoy some quiet.

Especially if there were a few bottles of good Scotch around.

I have a mild case of tinnitus also, so it's unlikely that I'd hear much.

Way down in mammoth cave it's the same deal, people can hear the blood flowing through their head. All I heard was ringing.

Heck, you could always hum your favorite song a couple of dozen times, wouldn't be so bad.

Yup, the voices would keep me company. I once had a Dixie Chicks CD stuck in my car stereo for a while; it wasn't really an issue until I had to drive ten hours to Austin, TX...people will look funny at a 6'+ guy in a GEO prizm singing along (horribly) with the Dixie Chicks in rural Texas.

I can sleep about 18 hours a day. Bring on the grub and I could handle a week or so of the quiet room.
