I remember a time when I was in the Navy and we were at sea, no moon out, the darkness was so intense, I could literally feel my eyes trying to focus on something! It wasn't a pleasant experience.

I cannot experience total sensory deprivation at this point, my P.I.T.A. tinnitis is a constant companion.

Having said that, the hissing would probably drive me nucking futs!!
