The robins here have a favorite perch, too. At dusk they get on their favorite antennae or light post and sing to welcome nightfall. So soothing.
Not by the standards many have for winter. Here in N. Mississippi, cold winter days are generally 30-40 degrees with night-times down in the low to mid 20's. Snow is an unusual event. When we get it is usually is 2-5 inches and melts off the roads fairly quickly. That's why I was fudging a little on the early spring comment earlier. When we do get a little snow it tends to be winter's last blast before spring. We generally don't count on anything before Easter. We have a lot of robins this years, too. Then the scouts of the purple martins usually arrive here the 15th of March. We'll see if they do this year.

WOC, I'm just outside of Memphis. We usually do get some winter as the cold fronts come down from the north. Then with in a few days the wind shifts from the east and finally from the gulf (south) and things warm up. This year the weather has been from the gulf most of the time.

Another favorite song bird is the wren. They have a big song for a little bird. They would be the bird that scares the hell out of you when they fly out of your hose reel or another cubbyhole.

Believe it or not! Here in Tennessee, I saw 4 of the small yellow Butterflies in the front yard today! I was amazed.

What kind of critter is that? The dead one on the ground, not the one holding the gun.

Robocop is a huge guy, too. I know how tall he is and it's outrageous.
