Charged by a large dog?

Squat to it's eye level, keep

eye contact, and growl and

motion aggressively

back.

Don't run! You'll just die tired.

Don't be afraid to dumpster dive.

Be creative. For instance, many old cooking oil and

juice jugs will make fine water containers.

Empty trash bags have many uses.

Good scrounging will make your life easier...

HA-TA-TA, (remember "the Schnozz"? - me either )

Hide in plain sight- remain perfectly still. The eye instinctively

focuses on movement. Stay low, don't move, and

anything you can do to break up a silhouette outline- different

colors, partial concealment, or using one of those plastic

bags from my last post to break up or distort a visible image,

is beneficial.

Is THAT an echo I hear? WTF happened to everybody else?

Hi-tech is great, but prone to breakdown and power-down.

Low-tech is better, easier to find or fix, and more disposable...

An old explorer trick- twist two or three coat hangers together-

gives you a much stronger, mold-able wire...

Grain alcohol-drinkable, usable for disinfectant, and has enough

octane to run an ICE...

Climb a tree.

Not only are you concealed, but

trees act as natural air conditioners,

keeping you cooler, in hot weather.

A good safe bolthole well concealed in an evergreen tree is a good place to keep at the ready.

Be wary of uprooted trees.

Especially areas with groups of downed

or leaning trees.

Pit vipers consider them prime

habitat...
